Cause or Effect?

A doctor came and found that there was a thin string around the monkey’s neck. It was placed there when the monkey was a baby. As the monkey grew, this string made eating difficult and he was dying. The doctor eventually cut the string and the monkey recovered.

Many people live like this. People see their behaviour without understanding the cause of it. People often have many “strings” binding their heart… “I’m poor so I won’t amount to anything”; “I’ve been abused so I’m dirty”; etc.

Finding and releasing that string can free people to be far greater than they could imagine. We need to find out exactly what is the true cause of the difficulties we are experiencing.

Likewise, just like this monkey needed someone else to cut this string from its neck, we all need someone apart from ourselves to help us to overcome the true cause of the things that are binding us.
