However, that does not mean that we impart what we have heard in our lives. There was once this janitor who was working at the Hyundai company. One day, the Chairman of this company made a visit and took note of this janitor. He walked up to him and said “hey, Director Kim, you are doing a very good job”. This janitor turned to the chairman and said, “Sir, I’m not a Director, I’m just a janitor”. To this, the chairman said to him “hey, listen. In this company, when I say you are a Director, then you are a Director”.
The janitor heard the words of the Chairman but he did not receive it initially. When he looked at himself, he was just a janitor. However, when he came to realize the authority of the Chairman’s words, he could throw away the image of himself and accept the words of the Chairman…” you are Director Kim”.
Many persons are trying to change themselves to match what they hear rather than believing first. There is a difference between hearing something and accepting something. Accepting something means receiving what you are told as the truth and throwing away anything from yourself that may conflict with that truth.
